The Vonio Story

What “Home” Truly Means

Selecting a name for a residential sanctuary isn’t merely about addresses or landmarks—it’s about capturing the essence of what “home” truly means.

Our journey began with “Argyll,” a name deeply rooted in Saint Andrews’ history as its first downtown hotel. Yet something felt incomplete. We weren’t building transient spaces—we were creating homes—places where life unfolds, where memories take root and flourish across generations.

This reflection led us back to Saint Andrews’ very foundation: a community shaped by brave immigrants searching for a new home with little more than hope and determination. They created a town that honors tradition while embracing the majestic presence of the sea that has defined life here for centuries.

As this vision crystallized, our thoughts drifted to another place close to my heart—Vonio, the small Italian mountain village where my family’s story began. Perched among the hills with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, Vonio represents the same spirit of home cherished in Saint Andrews.

In Vonio, we created Piazza Vonio to honor our family and all who emigrated from there seeking better lives for their children. Each year, we return to celebrate in this special square, giving thanks to those whose courage to leave everything familiar made our present possible.

The parallels between these two special places became undeniable. Both Saint Andrews and Vonio share a profound connection forged through sacrifice and unwavering determination to build better homes for future generations.

This is why our residential community now proudly bears the name “The Vonio”, a testament to the universal human desire to create meaningful places where families can thrive and memories can endure.

At 260 Water Street, The Vonio doesn’t just offer residences. It offers a continuation of a beautiful human story—of finding home, building community, and honoring the journeys that bring us to where we belong.

Welcome home to The Vonio.

“The first time I watched snow fall over the harbour, I knew I’d found my forever home. The view changes daily, but the feeling of being home never does.”
